Fall 🍂 (in love with scarves)

So it's finally that time approaching my favourite season, Autumn also known as Fall for you Americans. This season makes me happy because I can finally pull all my suede, fur, leather and knits out of the wardrobe, or even better, off the shop racks and into my wardrobe!!!

Although I will be doing more blog posts about the latest trends to keep an eye on this season, something I want to talk about before it starts are scarves. Scarves are the ONLY accessory you need this season. I have currently fallen in love with skinny scarves, so I'm trying to grab one in every colour (if you know me, you'll know by "every colour" I mean black, grey and white lol).

We've seen everyone with velvet chokers all summer, imitating the 90's, but this season give yourself a more sophisticated look with a skinny scarf. Wear it with a slogan tee and jeans for a laid back look or wear it with a shirt dress and heels for more of an evening look.

It's not just the skinny scarf that I'm loving, as the cold weather calls for the return of chunky, knitted and oversized scarves as well. Scarves are a statement accessory as well as an essential in this weather to keep warm. Finally, practicality and fashion teaming up, What more could you want?!! So get your hands on some scarves to keep stylish yet weather friendly this season.

1. Boohoo £4.00

2. Zara £5.99

I teamed my skinny scarf up with a midi shirt dress, mules and a round bag for a daytime 70's look.

Here's today's look that I created on myself as it's Eid! Eid Mubarak to you all!
I went for a more dramatic look because of the design of my outfit and with the colours within my outfit being so bright i could get away with something more daring. This look is also perfect for an evening out and is a actually a quick and simple look to complete as only TWO eye-shadow shades have been used! You could also experiment with other dark shades and get the exact same look. This makeup is all about the blending of the main colour that you're working with!

Here are the Products listed Below:

Base: Studio Sculpt MAC NC30
Concealer (under the eyes ONLY) : Light shade of the New Instant Age Rewind by Maybelline
Face Powder: Ben Nye Banana Powder - baked under eyes with the same powder
Eyes: Tartellette Matte Clay Palette shade 'Best Friend' - this was the ONLY shade used on the eyelid and was blended out to create a smokey effect. This shade was also used for my under eye to create a more dramatic look. I then used MAC 'soft and gentle' highlight to highlight my brow bone ONLY.  I used @maybelline Lasting Gel eyeliner in Black as Top Liner
Lashes: REMY Lashes 'WSP'
I used my usual Mascara which is the Rimmel Colossal Volume Mascara for both my top and bottom lashes
Eyebrows: @anastasiabeverlyhills dipdown in medium brown
Cheeks: Gingerly @maccosmetics , Soft and Gentle Highlight with a hint of 'nylon' eyeshadow on top
Lips: NYX Cosmetics Matte Lip Cream in 'London' and Gucci liplaquer 040
Contour: Gina Badhen Medium Contour Palette

Laced up.

Summers IT shoe has to be non other than "Ghillies", or lace ups, as we know them. Originating from the dance form of ballet, these shoes are usually worn by Irish, Scottish and highland dancers. However, Now that this trend has taken over the high street, there are many versions of lace ups available. From flats and sandals to heels and boots, lace up shoes are everywhere. This summer (well the one week we got of sunshine) has really seen lace up shoes become the number one choice.

Personally, any shoes with character speak out to me (yes, they can talk). That's why I feel plain flats are too basic so naturally I go for heeled shoes. However, lace ups have made it fun for me to wear flats again. They add character and a stylish touch to any outfit as well as maintaining the comfort factor.

Lace ups can be worn with anything from skirts, jeans, dresses, shorts and culottes to simple holiday outfits. Whether you buy lace up flats, lace up heels, lace up boots or lace up gladiators; be sure to have at least one pair of lace ups in your wardrobe for this summer. Or actually, even for the upcoming seasons because they'll be staying for a while. So Make sure you're laced up!!!!

Khaki Talk...

It's been a while since I've done a blog post, so I thought why not?! As you all know I mostly wear black, white and grey. These are the only colours you'll find in my wardrobe apart from the odd navy blue, but recently I've fallen in love with the colour Khaki. I think it is such a beautiful colour which goes well with everything without going OTT.

Now if at this point you're thinking, "khaki = military", you're wrong!! It no longer has to be associated with all things military, as lately I've been seeing a variety of elegant dresses, flowy shirts, palazzo pants aswell as tailored trousers all coming in khaki!

Khaki is definitely the colour for SS15, so get your hands on a stylish piece. Meanwhile, heres how I styled mine..

I styled my Khaki jacket with Culottes, which is another favourite trend of mine for SS15, (you'll know this if you follow me on instagram - mariyam_malik). I wanted to go for a casual daytime outfit, so I paired the trench and culottes with flat pointed loafers and a cross body bag. However, if styled with a leather midi skirt and a crop top, this jacket can instantly add glam for an evening look. So if you're looking for a light jacket at a reasonable price, this is the perfect piece which is bang on trend!

Khaki Jacket - NewLook £24.99
Striped Culottes - NewLook £17.99

This was only a look I tested out and posted on instagram which became popular, so as my first post I wanted to share a look that many of you wanted to know what products were used. The upcoming makeup looks and tutorials will all show a range of brands used to complete similar and different looks, so keep an eye-out. However I hope you girls got the answers from this look you waited for and remember any other questions or looks you want to see, do not hesitate to contact us or drop a comment below.

Gladiator Sandal Lovin'

Okay, so here is my first blog post! I know many of you expected it to be an outfit post but most of them will be on my Instagram as I want to combine everything on here such as my favourite trends, where I shop from aswell as upcoming trends for the next season. However, I will post my popular looks on here with all the details of the items for you.

So lets start of by talking about knee high gladiator sandals. Oh my, I'm currently obsessed with knee high sandals. As the weather gets warmer, it's much harder to accessorize or add layers, so adding gladiator sandals to even the simplest of outfits is quickest way to go from casual to quirky. More importantly, the best thing about them is that they're casual, comfortable yet so chic, and that combination is very hard to achieve.  I  can say this because my feet suffer 90% of the time because of my footwear choices, ouch! So even with a simple dress, skirt, culottes or longline shorts (which is another current favourite of mine), adding gladiator sandals just brings the outfit together.

Here are some of my favourites that come without a heavy price tag!

Details from top left to right, 1.www.spylovebuy.com £29.95,
2. www.topshop.com £52.00, 3. www.mango.com £19.99,
4. www.newlook.com £44.99
